Jeannine Kahn, former assistant vice chancellor in the Office of Academic Affairs, has been hired by the Board of Regents as the assistant commissioner for Academic Affairs.
Kahn left her University job Monday and assumed the Regents position Tuesday.
As assistant commissioner, Kahn said she will maintain the courses among all state institutions, consider academic matters that require Board approval and address issues relevant to higher education.
The Louisiana Board of Regents coordinates all public higher education in Louisiana.
Kahn worked at the University for 13 years. She was originally hired as an assistant to the vice provost and was promoted to assistant vice chancellor in 2001.
The Office of Academic Affairs will not replace her immediately, said Stacia Haynie, vice provost for Academic Affairs.
“At this point, we will redistribute duties in the office,” Haynie said.
