Four students worked the past two weeks to promote “The Vampire Diaries” as a part of a national public relations campaign.
The team, mass communications students Mia Bullard, Robbie Petro, Kittu Pannu and Claire Biggs, hosted several events to create awareness for the show, including a partnership with the Wellness Center for a week-long blood drive.
The group also painted members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity with glitter in Free Speech Alley with a sign saying, “Real vampires don’t sparkle.”
Rockets for Reverie member Tyler Train performed at a T-shirt painting event on the Parade Grounds, and students got to paint tailgating shirts while promoting the event.
The team did two weeks of campaigning with a $300 budget. The campaign period has ended, and they will find out how well they did at a national conference in Washington D.C. on Oct. 15.
The winning team will have an on-campus congratulatory party and one member of the team will get a summer internship at the CW public relations department.
