LSU will face Oregon in its 2011 season opener, Senior Associate Athletic Director Verge Ausberry confirmed Tuesday.
Ausberry said the game against the Ducks, a Pac-10 Conference team, will be at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the Cowboys Classic, and LSU will receive about $3 million.
“It’s not definite, but it will be over $3 million,” Ausberry said.
This will be the fourth meeting between LSU and Oregon and the first since 1977.
LSU announced other scheduling additions for the next six years Tuesday.
LSU will also host Western Kentucky in 2011, and its originally-scheduled 2011 game against Southern Miss has been moved to the 2016 season.
In 2012, Idaho will travel to Tiger Stadium, along with Furman and Alabama-Birmingham in 2013 and Georgia Southern in 2014.
In 2015, LSU will play host Jacksonville State, who upset Southeastern Conference rival Ole Miss on Saturday, and South Alabama will come to Baton Rouge in 2016.
