East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden’s office issued a news release Monday afternoon urging Baton Rouge residents to prepare for heavy rains and possible flooding this week.
“If East Baton Rouge Parish receives the rainfall that is forecast, we could experience flash flooding, so we need to make arrangements now to prepare,” the release said.
Baton Rouge residents — including LSU students — are urged to monitor media outlets and BRgov.com for updates on flood conditions.
Sandbags are available at local fire stations, and citizens can call the 311 Call Center to report flooding and downed trees, power lines, and other storm-related issues.
