The University will break ground tomorrow on the Choppin Hall Annex, a 85,348-square-foot facility with a $33.0 million price tag.
The state-funded building will “open 140 faculty workstations for chemical and materials research,” according to a University news release. The Department of Chemistry’s total facility space will double when the annex is complete, and research laboratory for the department will increase 63 percent, or just more than 15 percent for the entire College of Science.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held from 10 a.m. to noon “in the parking lot east of Choppin Hall, along Highland Road across from the French House.”
