Sporting News named LSU senior linebacker Kelvin Sheppard to its Preseason All-American team on Wednesday.
Sheppard, who racked up 103 tackles in 2009, was the only Southeastern Conference representative on the defense. Alabama running back Mark Ingram, Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, Florida offensive lineman Mike Pouncey and Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green all appear on the offensive team.
Sheppard joined linebackers Tank Carder (TCU) and Lawrence Wilson (Connectictut) on the team.
