Two degree programs originally cut in January — comparative literature and women’s and gender studies — will be reinstated.
The two programs were reinstated by the Louisiana Board of Regents on Wednesday. They were originally cut along with more than 20 other programs in Louisiana nearly seven months ago.
The University will offer women’s and gender studies as an undergraduate degree only, while comparative literature will only be offered as a doctorate program. Comparative literature originally had a master’s and doctorate program, but the master’s program will not return.
