The LSU softball team is ranked No. 13 and No. 18, respectively, in the ESPN.com/USA Softball and USA Today/NFCA preseason Top 25 polls.
Four Southeastern Conference teams will begin the season ranked in the top 25 in both polls, including Alabama, who is No. 2 in both polls.
The Tigers will begin the season on the road in Austin, Texas at the Texas Invitational on Feb. 12, against No. 19 North Carolina and No. 21 DePaul.
LSU finished last season ranked No. 23 in the final polls.
