As part of the University’s sesquicentennial celebration, students are planning to bury a time capsule which will be unearthed in 150 years. The Sesquicentennial Student Subcommittee is discussing plants to incorporate the capsule into the class gift project, said chairman Iftekhar Rouf. The committee hopes to include a letter from the chancellor and contributions from students in the capsule to take a snapshot of the University’s current population. The committee is currently searching for funds to overcome budgetary concerns on the expensive project. ‘It’s going to cost us about $3,000 to $4,000 to advertise, dig the hole, and [complete the project],’ Rouf said.
