With Mardi Gras fast approaching, it’s important to be conscious of the enormous quanity of litter produced each year. A press release from the ‘Keep Louisiana Beautiful’ offers tips to reduce Mardi Gras litter. The tips include, bringing garbage bags for trash, bring drinks in recyclable plastic or aluminum, dispose of cigarette butts properly and be proactive in collecting trash left by other parade attendees. Fines for littering can range up to $1,000 per offense.
