The 2010 MLB Draft continued Tuesday with four more LSU selections.
LSU junior catcher Micah Gibbs was selected 97th overall by the Chicago Cubs in the third round, and junior centerfielder Leon Landry was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round at the 109th pick.
Two more Tigers were selected in the eighth round on Tuesday afternoon. Junior pitcher Austin Ross was selected 249th by the Milwaukee Brewers, while senior first baseman Blake Dean was pick No. 262, also to the Dodgers.
Landry and Dean give the Dodgers three ties to the Tigers’ program in this year’s draft. The National League club selected football prospect Zach Lee with the 28th pick on Monday night.
It is unknown if Lee will opt to play in pros or honor his football scholarship to play quarterback at LSU.
Junior pitcher Anthony Ranaudo was chosen Monday night 39th overall by the Boston Red Sox in compensation round A.
Five other LSU prospects have been taken in the draft in addition to Lee. The Red Sox also drafted shortstop prospect Garin Cecchini in the fourth round and outfield prospect Lucas LeBlanc in the 11th round.
LSU pitching prospect Kevin Gausman was selected in the sixth round, also by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Delino Deshields Jr. was selected eighth overall on Monday night, while pitching prospect Cam Bedrosian was taken 29th by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
