Thibodaux offensive lineman Greg Robinson will be a Tiger next year, just not an LSU Tiger.
The Scout.com four-star recruit committed to Auburn on Friday, choosing them over home-state LSU.
When Robinson’s teammate and class of 2012 linebacker Trey Granier gave his commitment to LSU in November, some thought that would tip the scales in LSU’s favor.
Instead, Robinson chose to follow in the footsteps of Trovon Reed, a former Thibodaux wide receiver who chose Auburn in 2010.
Robinson had been deciding between Auburn and LSU for months, and visited LSU one final time Dec. 4 before choosing Auburn.
LSU may now turn to a former Auburn commit, Spencer Region, to fill the hole left by Robinson. The 6-foot-6, 345 pound, Cullman, Ala., native has LSU and Wisconsin listed as his top two choices.
