The much-anticipated lineup for the 10th anniversary of the Bayou Country Superfest, Louisiana’s Memorial Day Weekend country music festival, has been released.
Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Dan + Shay and Cassadee Pope will open the festival on May 25. Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Brett Young and Chase Rice will perform on May 26.
Presale tickets go on sale Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. with Stadium Club presale starting at 12 p.m. on the same day. Tickets go on sale for the general public on Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. CST. Only two-day packages will be a part of the initial sale.
This year, Bayou Country Superfest returns to its home in Tiger Stadium after a two-year stint in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans due to ongoing off-season construction in the stadium. It is estimated that the incentive package that lured the festival back to Tiger Stadium totals $1 million.
It is fitting that in its return year, the festival should feature veteran acts of the show. Chesney and Aldean performed in the inaugural Superfest back in 2010, alongside rising star Taylor Swift who would fully transition from country to pop later that year with the release of her “Speak Now” album. Chesney returned to the festival in 2011 and 2015.
Aldean returned to the festival in 2012, 2014 and 2016, performing along with Florida Georgia Line in 2014 for their first appearance in the show.
Attendance for the festival dwindled during its time in New Orleans, bringing into question whether or not the festival would return this year. It was announced at the end of 2018 that the festival would indeed return to Baton Rouge. Speculation began as to who would headline the show with “Callin’ Baton Rouge” star Garth Brooks being a favorite amongst the contenders.
