The LSU Tigers men’s basketball team has found its way back into the AP Top 25 poll, sitting at the No. 25 spot after week 12.
LSU was ranked in the AP Preseason Poll, but dropped out of the top 25, following two straight losses to Oklahoma State and Florida State.
The Tigers received 154 votes, only two behind No. 24 Iowa State, and 15 more than No. 26 Florida State.
The AP rewarded the Tigers for starting Southeastern Conference play 4-0, making them one of only two unbeatens remaining, the other being No. 1 Tennessee.
To start 2019, LSU got a convincing home win over Alabama, followed by two straight road victories at Arkansas and No. 20 Ole Miss. The Tigers returned home on Jan. 19 and throttled a South Carolina team that were 4-0 in conference play before the trip to Baton Rouge.
Next up for the Tigers is the Georgia Bulldogs, who will make the trip to Baton Rouge for a Jan. 23, 6 p.m. tip-off.
