Senior shooting guard Darryl Edwards will seek a medical redshirt after undergoing surgery and will transfer from the program if it is granted.
It was the news many Tiger fans had already suspected, but was finally confirmed during Will Wade’s Monday night radio show.
“We just didn’t account for him staying around for one more year with the recruits we went after and planned for” Wade said during his weekly coach’s show at TJ Ribs.
Wade cited LSU guard depth and the expectation that Edwards would be graduating at the end of the season.
Edwards’ LSU career comes to an end with the senior only seeing action in 9 total games played this season while averaging 17.1 minutes per game and shooting 39.4 percent from the field.
