LSU defensive back coach Corey Raymond is staying in Baton Rouge after interviewing with Georgia over the weekend, a source told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune’s Brody Miller.
Raymond just finished his seventh season with the Tigers, focusing mainly on cornerbacks.
Since Raymond returned to the LSU coaching staff in 2011, eight defensive backs have been selected in the NFL draft, including Jamal Adams and Donte Jackson. Junior cornerback Greedy Williams has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Raymond himself was a three-year starter in the Tiger secondary from 1989-91, totaling 185 tackles and eight interceptions.
Raymond is in the last year of his three-year extension. His contract expires on March 21, 2020.
