Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Tuesday that the statewide mask requirement has been lifted, according to The Advocate.
Local governments and businesses will be allowed to establish their own mask requirements.
Masks are still required at hospitals, nursing homes, K-12 schools and universities.
The requirement was lifted after the CDC announced it is now safe to do outdoor activities regardless of if an individual is fully vaccinated.
