This week, both the SEC schedule and fall schedule for the LSU softball season were announced.
The Southeastern Conference released the 24-game schedule for the 2022 softball season on Thursday. For the Tigers, conference play will open up at home against Alabama on Friday, Mar. 11. This matchup is one of four series to be played at Tiger Park. The Tigers will face Kentucky, South Carolina, and Florida throughout the month of April.
After the home opener against the Crimson Tide, LSU will take a week break before following with their first road series of the season in Fayetteville, Ark. against the Razorbacks. The away schedule also includes a set of series against Texas A&M and Georgia.
Although subject to change, LSU will play four home series and four away, alternating Baton Rouge and the opponent’s location between each series. Some of these series may possibly adjust their schedules to end on Mondays.
From April 29-May 1, the Tigers will wrap up home play in a series against Florida. The team will then conclude the season on the road in Starkville, Mississippi. Their final matchup will occur May 6-8 against Mississippi State.
The Tigers will turn around just two days later to begin competition at the SEC Tournament in Gainesville, Fla. This year, the Florida Gators will host the tournament at the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
Specific game times and broadcasting info will be released at a later date.

On Friday, LSU softball announced the 2021 fall schedule featuring eight exhibition games with six of them to be held at Tiger Park. The Tigers’ first two games will be on the road, however.
LSU will begin fall ball on Saturday, Oct 16 in Houston, Texas. The first game will be against Houston at 4 p.m. The Tigers will follow up with Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m.
The team will return to Baton Rouge for the remainder of fall play. Fans can catch a glimpse of this year’s softball team starting on Friday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. against Pensacola State. Another game will follow against Co-Lin at 6:30 p.m.
On Nov. 5, LSU will face Northwest Florida State at 5 p.m. and have a follow-up game with Belhaven the next day at 5:30 p.m. The purple and gold will see their last opponents before the official season, Chipola and Nicholls State, on Friday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
The Tigers will wrap up the fall with the annual LSU Purple and Gold World Series week starting on Monday, Nov 15.
After last year’s No. 15 team finished 35-22 on the season and went to NCAA Super Regionals for the sixth straight time, the 2022 softball team will return 21 athletes, including NFCA All-American Taylor Pleasants and 2021 All-SEC Newcomer Team member Ciara Briggs.
2022 NCAA regionals are set for May 20-22 at locations to be later determined. The 2022 Women’s World Series will follow up on Jun 2-10 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
