LSU announced campus will close today at 12:30 p.m. due to Hurricane Zeta.
All in-person or virtual classes and activities scheduled to occur at 12:30 p.m. or later are canceled. Any classes in progress at 12:30 p.m. should end at that time. Faculty should not attempt to hold remote classes after 12:30 p.m. due to the potential for inclement weather and power outages.
The University will reopen tomorrow, Oct. 29.
Residence halls, on-campus apartments and dining halls will remain open. Students living on campus should shelter in place by remaining indoors and staying in contact with Residential Life staff for any updates or instructions.
Essential employees should speak with their supervisors about their responsibilities after 12:30 p.m. Non-essential employees are not expected to work after 12:30 p.m., even if they are still working remotely due to COVID-19, and are not to remain on campus.
All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to monitor LSU’s email account, website, social media channels and emergency text messaging for any updates.
