On Wednesday morning, the Southeastern Conference made it official: Instead of hosting Missouri on Saturday, LSU will travel to Columbia, Missouri, to face the Tigers as Hurricane Delta takes aim at the Louisiana coast.
The game will be played at 11 a.m. CT. The game was originally scheduled for 8 p.m.
The storm strengthened to a category four hurricane on Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to make landfall early Saturday morning in southwest Louisiana after a slight shift west in the Wednesday morning projection.
“Due to the pending impact of Hurricane Delta on Louisiana and the surrounding area,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said, “it is in the best interest for the safety of everyone involved to move the game to Columbia.”
