“It was a good win for us,” head coach Paul Mainieri said after the Tigers’ 8-1 victory over Toledo. “Hopefully we can build off of this.”
The Tigers are indeed building a strong team.
Sophomore pitcher Zack Hess has been improving with each start. Hess went seven innings with 13 strikeouts and 76 total strikes.
To add on to Hess’ dominant pitching, junior catcher Hunter Feduccia sent a grand slam over the walls of Skip Bertman Field in the seventh inning.
The Tigers take on Sacred Heart on Saturday night at Alex Box Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
