Sudan, the world’s last male White Rhino, has passed away at 45-years-old in Kenya.
Sudan had been battling for his life after suffering from multiple infections.
A veterinary team chose to euthanize Sudan so he didn’t have to suffer any longer.
Now the question is whether or not this species will become extinct since there are only two White Rhino females left.
Researchers were able to successfully save some of Sudan’s genetic material in hopes to save White Rhino subspecies.
