The Tigers dominated on the mound Tuesday night against Southern, cruising to a 6-2 win. However, of those 6 runs, only one was earned on a base hit. After the game, LSU HC Paul Mainieri said he was shocked that number wasn’t bigger.
“I thought we hit three home-runs, one in each of the three innings,” Mainieri said. “They were absolutely crushed.”
Mainieri was also pleased with his pitchers and CF Zach Watson’s return from injury.
“It was just good to see him back out there… I thought Zach swung the ball extremely well” (he went 3-5 with a double and an RBI).
