LSU sophomore pitcher Zack Hess posted a career high 13 strikeouts after having a career night a week ago against Texas, where Hess had 10 strikeouts.
“Ever since Notre Dame, we’ve kind of been cognizant of making sure I get all the way through my pitches,” Hess says of his progression the last two games.
Hess put up those numbers in seven innings, and he tied his career high in strikeouts after pitching the first five. However, the Tigers did struggle offensively, going four straight innings without a run before Hunter Feduccia hit a grand slam in the seventh.
“Our guys just battled, and they ended up just busting it open there late in the game.”
LSU’s next game is Saturday, March 3rd against Sacred Heart. First pitch is 6 p.m.
