The New Orleans-based restaurant The Big Cheezy is expected to open a food truck March 9 near Tigerland at 1098 Bob Petit Blvd. The truck will stay parked in the lot in front of Fred’s and Reggie’s bars, and they will run Thursday through Sunday.
The talk of opening a new Big Cheezy location began last year when LSU alumnus Jason Harbison started a Kickstarter campaign to help finance the project. It raised nearly $2,000, but fell short of its $25,000 goal.
Harbison and three others will own and operate the new location. The truck will include some of the same menu items as its New Orleans locations, and will include new dishes specially made for the new location.
