Before the game, head coach Paul Mainieri asked Beau Jordan to hit a home run off the first pitch he sees.
Jordan delivered.
“It’s finally nice to get some players that do as they’re told,” Mainieri said after the 9-3 win.
The Tigers hit 4 home runs Friday night, from Jordan, Jake Slaughter (2), and Hunter Feduccia.
Game two of the series against Tennessee will be Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
