LSUPD officer Samuel L. Ellis, III is wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department on charges of second degree battery and false imprisonment after allegedly striking a person early Monday morning, according to a BRPD press release.
According to the release, BRPD officers were notified of a disturbance around 2 a.m. Monday morning. The victim suffered extensive damage and was held captive by Ellis for several hours before he fled.
Ellis is believed to be in a black Dodge Charger and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the release. 
LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard said LSUPD is aware of the incident and is cooperating with BRPD in their pursuit of Ellis.
“LSU Police is working with BRPD in locating the officer and will address administrative aspects once he is apprehended,” Ballard said to The Daily Reveille. “He has been an officer with LSUPD since July 2017.”
