The No. 11 LSU Tigers softball team will start its campaign for a fourth straight Women’s College World Series appearance at home in Tiger Park on Friday May, 18.
The Tigers (41-14, 13-10 SEC) earned the 11 seed after being led by the senior pitching duo of Allie Walljasper and Carley Hoover.
LSU will open the tournament against Atlantic 10 champions Fordham. The Tigers will also play host to Louisiana-Lafayette and Houston who will play each other on Friday.
The winners of those two games will play each other while the losers will enter the losing bracket of the double elimination bracket.
Should LSU advance, they will face the winner of the Tallahassee regional in the super regional and will travel to Tallahassee if 6 seed Florida State wins the regional.
The Tigers defeated the Seminoles in the super regional in Tallahassee last season and have won their last two super regionals on the road.
LSU is one of 13 SEC teams to make the NCAA tournament, the second consecutive season that the all SEC softball teams were selected to the NCAA tournament, including nine of the top 16 seeds.
