If you are an LSU fan, you should know this by now. Never leave early.
After several early mishaps along with a slow night at bat, the Tigers were down six runs in the fifth inning.
However, that Alex Box magic granted junior catcher Bryce Jordan a grand slam to make it a 6-4 game with the Tigers down two runs.
That was no problem for sophomore shortstop Josh Smith. A two-run homer from Smith would give the Tigers the lead in the eighth inning.
The Tigers would hold on to the 7-6 lead for the comeback victory.
The second game of the series against Notre Dame is on Saturday afternoon at Alex Box Stadium. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
