Air-conditioning repairs on campus could take anywhere from a few days, to “a couple of weeks,” according to a University broadcast email.
The Campus-wide climate-control system is operating at 32 percent capacity. Several campus buildings have been experiencing air-conditioning problems this week, including Thomas Boyd Hall, Efferson Hall, Coates Hall and Middleton Library.
The University said they’re “working on this problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
On Wed. Feb. 21, LSU Libraries announced on Twitter that the air-conditioning problems were affecting temperatures in several buildings.
“We hear all of you – it is hot in Middleton Library,” LSU Libraries said.
In the broadcast email, the University explained that the “cooling deficit” is around 14,300 tons, which is the equivalent of 2,800 residential air-conditioning units.
