Following his game against Notre Dame last week, sophomore pitcher Zack Hess played one of his best games as an LSU Tiger. Hess put up a career-high 10 strikeouts against the Texas Longhorns. Hess only allowed two runs in his six pitched innings.
Moreover, the Tigers’ hitters showed great production for the second straight game. LSU scored eight of their 13 runs in the first three innings, and the Tigers outperformed the Longhorns significantly when it came to hits. LSU had 16 hits; the Longhorns only had eight.
Additionally, LSU didn’t have a single error, but Texas had three errors on the night. The Tigers and Longhorns continue their series Saturday, February 25th. First pitch is 4 p.m.
