On Saturday, the Crimson Tide rolled over the third-ranked LSU Tigers, shutting them out 29-0.
Not only did the Tide dominate on both ends of the ball, but they did it in Death Valley, one of the most hostile environments in college football.
“It was very loud tonight,” Bama QB Tua Tagovailoa said. “It was loud consistently throughout the whole game.”
“We really wanted to make a statement in this game,” Bama HC Nick Saban said. “To shut-out this team is really, a pretty significant accomplishment.”
Alabama held LSU to only 196 yards of total offense. On the other side of the ball, the Tide were dominant; Tua picked apart the LSU secondary with his arm (throwing 25-42 for 295 yards and 2 TD’s) and ran in a 44-yard touchdown in the third quarter to help put the game away.
“They’re very sound as a defense,” Tua said. “It was really big for our O-line to have been given that opportunity to run against a team like this.”
“They (LSU) had a good game-plan against us in the beginning of the game and we made some quick adjustments and the players did a good job of adapting to it.”
