The University announced Friday that Greek and student organizations will be permitted to tailgate anywhere on campus, except for the Parade Ground and chapter houses, as long as the organizations register with University officials.
The University is looking for a new security company, according to an email from LSU Vice President for Legal Affairs Thomas V. Skinner. 
Organizations must notify the University five days before the tailgate. Each organization is responsible for notifying the University of the location of the event and giving a certification that any alcohol provided will be in compliance with LSU’s alcohol policies. Every tailgate will be monitored by LSUPD.
These policies are the result of a supplement to PS-78, the University’s alcohol policy. 
The University will allow any pre-planned Homecoming events to take place on Oct. 20.
“Any pre-planned Homecoming events at Greek houses involving parents and alumni, such as lunches and banquets, will be allowed to proceed, in recognition of the scheduling and planning that already is in place for these annual events,” Skinner said in the letter. “In order to ensure that Homecoming remains a safe and enjoyable day for students and their families, please work with the Greek community to clearly define appropriate parameters around those events.”
Lofton Security notified the University Tuesday it would no longer provide security for tailgates at chapter houses. The University announced tailgates would not take place in chapter houses or on the Parade Ground for the remainder of the 2018 football season.
