After a short lived winning streak, LSU has fallen in their last two games. LSU will face No. 24 Missouri Friday in Columbia, MO. Mizzou is undefeated at home, with a six game winning streak.
The Tigers have had many up and down throughout the season. However, multiple LSU players are making a name for themselves.
Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Bannister adds to a great first season. She is ranked No. 23 in the nation for kills per set at 4.36 and No. 20 in the nation for points per set at 4.87.
Sophomore defensive specialist Raigen Cianciulli was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week October 15 after putting down 47 digs in just two matches.
Mizzou also has two players who were named SEC Week Nine Players of the Week, but this is the first week Missouri is nationally ranked. This new stat will push the team even harder in order to stay in the top 25.
Mizzou’s stats are very similar to Kentucky’s, who LSU fell to in a sweep last week. LSU struggled both offensively and defensively during the Kentucky game. The Tigers will have to come more prepared so that they can attempt to take down Missouri.
Missouri leads LSU in their all-time series at 4-7. Last season LSU fell in straight sets to Missouri. LSU has not beat Missouri since 2014.
LSU will have to push their limits in order to come out on top. The Tigers need a lot of momentum and motivation to start a new winning streak. LSU will need to meet Missouri at the net, control the ball and anchor the back row to pull this win off.
The game can be viewed on SEC Network at 8 p.m. Friday.
