LSU basketball gave Tiger fans a little taste of what’s to come this season, holding a practice scrimmage in the PMAC Saturday before LSU and Georgia kicked off.
The practice started with defensive drills and after about 15 minutes moved to a purple v. gold scrimmage. LSU started with defensive slides and worked on transition situations as well.
Among the returning players, guards Tremont Waters and Sklyar Mays worked on rebuilding their physique and it the hard work seems to have paid off.
Freshmen Naz Reid and Ja’Vonte Smart shot the ball tremendously well, while JUCO transfer Marlon Taylor showed the one of a kind athleticism that coach Will Wade had been enamored with.
The team scrimmaged for about 30 minutes and both teams moved at a faster pace then last year’s team. The LSU season tips off on Nov. 6 when the Tigers host Southeastern at 7:30 p.m.
