LSU moved up one spot to No. 4 in the Associated Press Poll following its 19-3 win Saturday night over then-No. 22 Mississippi State.
The Tigers (7-1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) also moved up one spot to No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Tigers got a boost from then-No. 2 Ohio State, who lost 49-20 to unranked Purdue Saturday. The Buckeyes fell to No. 11 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll.
Mississippi State fell out of the top-25 in both polls following the loss.
LSU will face No. 1 Alabama on Nov. 3 following the bye week, and No. 17 Texas A&M on Nov. 24.
