This week’s edition of the Easter Egg highlights Furi. Furi is an action, shooter, beat-em-up, bullet hell game released in 2016. You play as the Stranger, recently released from prison and looking to escape to the planet below. You mus face off against 10 guardians to find your freedom, each one living on a floating island closer and closer to the surface. The game is basically a big boss rush mode. There are no enemies other than the guardians and each trail leading to the next is characterized by soothing music and beautiful vistas. The fights themselves are tons of fun; challenging without being impossible with a surprisingly deep combat system. And of course, with one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard. I am a bit biased because I love synthwave but this game provides it in spades and I cant help grooving along to the beat when trying to dodge the next hail of bullets. Highly recommended, even if only for the visuals and soundtrack.
