LSU HC Will Wade spoke to the media for the first time this year on Monday, addressing the strengths and weaknesses the team has worked on in the preseason.
Wade opened by saying the team is still a work in progress, but he is proud of what he accomplished in his first year as the head coach, saying “people [in Baton Rouge] care about basketball, which wasn’t the case a year ago.”
“We’ve got to grow up quick or it’s gonna hit us like a ton of bricks” said Wade about the younger members of this year’s team. He mentioned the returners also being strong, but emphasized helping this team grow.
The preseason will continue through November with the season kicking off on November 6 against Southeastern.
