A man died after being struck by a vehicle around 1 a.m. Sunday morning near Tigerland. 
Blake Cordes of Mandeville was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead Wednesday, according to a Louisiana State Police press release. Investigators determined the driver was not impaired, but the crash is still under investigation.
Investigators said Cordes was walking on the shoulder of LA Hwy 30 north of Ben Hur Road, according to the release. Cordes stepped off for unknown reasons and was struck by the vehicle. 
Cordes was a student at Southeastern Louisiana University, according to his obituary in The New Orleans Advocate.
