This week is national hazing prevention week. It is an opportunity for campuses, communities and individuals to raise awareness about the problem of hazing and promote the prevention of it.
LSU’s sorority, Alpha Delta Pi took it upon themselves to organize a basketball tournament benefiting The Max Gruver Foundation.
Hannah Tonry, LSU A-D-Pi President says Rae Ann Gruver, Max’s mother, was in Alpha Delta Pi at Clemson University and she is the reasoning behind hosting this event. They wanted to “support their sister.”
Any organization or group of friends can register to play in the tournament. To sign up you need six players in a donation of $200. They already have 19 teams registered and are hoping more will join.
This is the first Greek sponsored event on campus for the Max Gruver foundation this year.
The Fly High Max Basketball Tournament will be held on September 26th from 6:00-11:00 pm at the University Recreation Center. The sorority has already raised over $13,000.
Tickets are five dollars pre-sale and seven dollars at the door. This includes entrance and a plate of food.
You can also donate by contacting [email protected] to donate or purchase tickets at their website.
