The LSU chapter of Delta Chi fraternity was placed on interim suspension Monday, according to a letter sent to the fraternity from Associate Dean of Students and IFC Director Jonathan Sanders.
The letter says the suspension is a result of incidents that occurred during the week of Aug. 19. The fraternity is under investigation for potential violations of the LSU Code of Student Conduct.
Initial information gathered does not indicate hazing was a factor, but a thorough investigation will still be conducted, according to LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
The interim suspension prevents the fraternity from having contact between new members and initiated members, hosting or participating in organized social events, participating intramural activities or conduct any chapter meetings unless it is dictated or approved by the University.
