LSU announced that four players were put on scholarship including punter Zach Von Ronsenberg, wide receiver Tiger Scheyd, fullback Trey Gallman and offensive lineman Turner Simmers.
Von Rosenberg is a sophomore who averaged 43 yards per punt in 2017 on 36 attempts and is expected retain his starting role in 2018. Scheyd, Gallman and Simmers are all seniors who have not recorded any stats in their time.
“We are very proud of all of our walk-ons,” Orgeron said in a press release. “The work that they do every day is very important to our program. I wish I could give a scholarship to every walk on that is a part of our team. It is a very proud moment for our team when we get to reward their teammates for the hard work that they put in to play for the Tigers.”
