LSU announced Monday afternoon that Ohio State graduate transfer quarterback will start against Miami in the season-opener on Sunday.
Hours before the decision was made public, head coach Ed Orgeron discussed the decision with the media.
“Leadership. Maturity. How to handle pressure. Work ethic. Individual study time. We have a saying that everything you do counts,” Orgeron said. “All of that went in to it.”
Both Burrow and sophomore quarterback Myles Brennan were notified of the decision Monday morning.
Burrow committed to the team in late May. He played in 10 games while at Ohio State, completing 29 of 39 passes for 287 yards.
