When LSU’s Football Operations Building opened opened in 2005, it was “finest facility in the country.” Now, LSU is behind, athletic director Joe Alleva explained at the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club Tuesday. 
This summer, LSU began an almost $30 million renovation that will add a nutritional facility, a new lobby entrance including the LSU Hall of Fame and an LSU Experience Room in addition to new offices and locker rooms.
Tiger Stadium is also receiving a premium update this season, adding a “sports bar” location for the home opener. 
A number of other LSU sports are also updating their facilities or building new ones all together. 
Both the LSU baseball and softball team are putting in new video boards, follow the Pete Maravich Assembly Center adding the largest video board in the NCAA. Both teams are also getting additional facilities. 
The baseball program is adding a weight room behind right field at Alex Box Stadium.
“The facility will also have a small locker room for minor league and major league baseball players to come back and work out when they’re not in season,” Alleva said. “That’s great for the culture of our baseball program to have the alumni that are playing professional ball to enhance the culture.”
LSU softball’s Tiger Park is adding an indoor batting cage and a small indoor field to its facilities. 
Alleva also said LSU’s indoor track facility was renovated.
One notable absence from the list of renovations is the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Alleva said plans are still being finalized, but the PMAC has not been renovated much in its 35 year. 
Alleva wishes to add weight rooms for both basketball teams and club seating in the PMAC. 
“One of the things we have to do to keep (the men’s basketball program) growing is to enhance the PMAC,” Alleva said. “I’d like to add club seating to that facility. Our fans like premium seating.”
