Junior guard Chloe Jackson was named a finalist for the inaugural Ann Meyers Drysdale award for the best shooting guard in women’s basketball, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday.
Jackson was one of just 10 guards named a finalist and had been one of just 20 named on the watchlist in November.
Senior guard Raigyne Louis was selected on the watchlist for the Cheryl Miller Award for best small forward in November, which will announce its finalists on Wednesday.
Jackson currently leads the team with 17.9 points per game and is averaging 20.9 points per game against SEC foes.
In two games against other finalists this season, she has held them to just 20 points while giving the Lady Tigers 46 points.
The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award is awarded by the Naismith Hoops Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
