There will be a ribbon-cutting and grand-opening ceremony for the new William A. Brookshire Military & Veterans Student Center on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m.
The center will support student veterans, active military, reservists, guardsmen and their dependents, thanks to a donation from alumnus William Brookshire. The new military and veteran center sits on Veterans Drive, adjacent to Barnes & Noble at LSU.
The new center will focus on the needs of students transitioning into life at the University, providing interactive programming and individual strategy sessions. The University is home to nearly 500 veteran students and over 1,600 undergraduate dependents.
The 46,000-square-foot center will house a computer lab, meeting rooms and offices. The Brookshire Center is part of LSU Campus Connections under the Division of Student Affairs.
