The University announced Friday afternoon that campus would reopen and resume normal operations Saturday.
“All classes and events scheduled for tomorrow will be held as planned,” the University said in a broadcast email. “All campus buildings and services that are normally open on Saturdays will be open tomorrow for their regular Saturday business hours. These include Tiger Trails buses, Campus Transit, the Union, the UREC, LSU Dining, the Bookstore, the Student Health Center, Middleton Library and more.”
The University said LSU, the LSU Laboratory School, and the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool are all expected to resume classes Monday.
Update 1/18 8:26 p.m.
The University announced campus will be closed Friday, and all classes and events will be postponed to a later date.
“LSU’s priority is to maintain adequate water pressure for its 5,000 on-campus residents,” the University said in a press release on its website. “Therefore, all non-essential employees are asked to remain off campus. Essential personnel should check with their supervisors to see if they are needed on Friday.”
The 5 dining hall will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The 459 Commons will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Information on the status of other services will be announced later.
The University said alterations to the academic calendar, including the last date -to drop a course without receiving a “W” will be announced later.

Update 1/18 5:05 p.m.
The University is expected to announce whether or not campus will open Friday, Jan. 19 by 8:30 p.m.
“Since adequate water pressure affects fire safety, as well as health and sanitation, LSU is waiting to see if water pressure across the city improves in the next few hours,” officials said in an emergency broadcast Thursday afternoon.
The UREC was scheduled to be open until 8 p.m. today however, due to current Baton Rouge water pressure conditions they will be closing at 6 p.m.
The University Bookstore announced they will resume normal operating hours on Friday, Jan. 18. The 5 Dining Hall, Take 5, 459 Commons Dining Hall and Outtakes will operate per their normal hours, all other campus dining services are closed.
Campus transit will be available from 5:30pm until midnight tonight.

Update: 1/17 4:18 p.m.
The University announced in a broadcast email Wednesday that campus will remain closed Thursday. All classes and events will be postponed.
The University said the academic calendar will be altered in order to accommodate for a second day of cancelled classes. The changes will be announced within the next week, according to the email.
The LSU Athletics Department will make an announcement regarding the status of the women’s basketball game vs. Auburn Thursday night at a later time.
The dining halls will remain open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, but other services such as Campus Transit, the UREC and the Student Union will remain closed.

Update: 4:42 p.m.
The University announced campus will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 17 due to extreme winter weather and the likelihood of icy roads.
Dining halls will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., but most other services will be closed, according to LSU Emergency Operations.
Several roads on campus will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather including South Campus Drive at the East Campus Apartments bridge, Gourrier Avenue by the childcare center and west of Alex Box Stadium, and the West Lakeshore bridge at Miller Hall.
Officials are monitoring Skip Bertman Drive by University Stores.

Update: 1/16 2:17pm
The LSU Student Union and LSU Libraries announced they will close at 3 p.m. due to weather conditions expected to impact the area. The LSU UREC said they will close at 3 p.m. and updates the opening time for Wednesday as soon as the information is available.
Dining halls will be open until 8 p.m., per their usual hours.
Tiger Trails will operate until 4 p.m. today, campus transit will be suspended this evening.

The University announced Tuesday morning that campus will close at 3 p.m. due to the threat of cold weather and icy roads.
According to a broadcast email, students in classes at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center that last until 3:20 p.m. will be required to stay throughout the duration of the class.
The men’s basketball game vs. Georgia at 6 p.m. will continue as planned.
The events planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Day as well as the Greek Life Task Force meeting will be postponed to later dates.
Information on facility services including LSU Dining, Campus Transit and the UREC will be posted on www.lsu.edu as the information becomes available.
The University will make an announcement regarding the status of campus for Wednesday before 5:30 p.m.
