The LSU men’s basketball team continued its fast start in Southeastern Conference play, defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks 75-54 on Wednesday night.
The victory is the fifth in the last six games for LSU (11-4, 2-1 SEC), with its only conference loss to No. 21 Kentucky. The Tigers have now defeated the previously No. 11 ranked Texas A&M Aggies and an Arkansas team that was undefeated at home this season.
LSU eclipsed last years win totals with the win and a step forward for the program under first year head coach Will Wade.
The Tigers held Arkansas to 54 points on the night marking their lowest points scored this season. Arkansas entered the contest leading the SEC in point scored per game with 88.5 points per game.
The improved LSU defense was on full display. Using the new four on five defensive strategy the Tigers held Arkansas to a season low 33.3 field goal percentage. The Tigers were previously ranked second to last in the SEC in defensive field goal percentage.
The win was a team effort by LSU with four Tigers finishing in double figures. Senior forward Aaron Epps led the way for the Tigers with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guards Randy Onwuasor and Skylar Mays added 12 points and senior forward Duop Reath finished with 11 points.
The Tigers lead stretched to as high as 27 in front of a large crowd at Bud Walton Arena. 
LSU looks to continue its winning ways on Saturday when it faces off against Alabama (10-6 2-2) at 7:30 p.m. in the PMAC.
