Derrius Guice’s time as an LSU Tiger has come to an end as the junior announced his decision to enter the 2018 NFL Draft via Twitter. 
Guice is the fifth underclassman to leave, joining edge rusher Arden Key, tackle Toby Weathersby and cornerbacks Kevin Toliver and Donte Jackson. 
Baton Rouge native and former Catholic High standout Guice holds the school’s single-game rushing record set against Texas A&M in 2016 with 285 yards. 
A projected first-round pick, Guice finished his final season with the Tigers with 1,251 yards despite injuries he sustained a majority of the year. Against Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl, Guice eclipsed 3,000 career rushing yards and became just the fifth player in LSU history to do so. 
In his most prominent season wearing the purple and gold in 2016, Guice led the Southeastern Conference in rushing yards (1,387) and led all SEC running backs in rushing touchdowns. 
With the departure of Guice and senior running back Darrel Williams, LSU will look to junior Nick Brossette and freshman Clyde Edwards-Helaire to fill those voids. However, neither have had a major role in LSU’s offense or played a substantial amount of time.
