LSU starting nose tackle Ed Alexander will forego his senior season and declare for the 2019 NFL Draft, according to a report by Nola.com’s Brody Miller. Alexander will also not play in the Fiesta Bowl. 
LSU coach Ed Orgeron confirmed in a news conference Wednesday that Alexander would be entering the draft. 
Alexander joins cornerback Greedy Williams in the latest crop of players leaving school early to declare for the draft.
Alexander was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2016 after playing in 11 games and recording 13 tackles. He played in 10 games his sophomore season and earned his first career start at Mississippi State. Alexander finished the season with 17 total tackles. 
Alexander saw little time on the field early in 2018 due to a knee injury, but became a full-time starter on the back-end of the season. He recorded 28 tackles and a sack during his junior season. 
LSU will now be without Alexander and defensive end Breiden Fehoko as it faces Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl. Starters Rashard Lawrence and Glen Logan will be joined by Tyler Shelvin and Neil Farrell on the defensive line.
